Is it free to sign up?

Yes. Professionals and businesses can create an account and profile for free. Businesses pay professionals directly for their work; Disco Shift invoices its separate 20% service fee after completion is confirmed. There is no signup or subscription fee.

Who pays the professional?

The business pays the professional directly using their agreed payment method. Disco Shift invoices its 20% service fee after completed work is confirmed. Tips are passed to the professional without a Disco Shift commission.

How much does Disco Shift charge?

Disco Shift’s completion commission is 20% of the professional’s confirmed gross shift pay. Tips are excluded. Any applicable VAT on Disco Shift’s fee is shown separately on the invoice. For example, 8 hours at £15/hour means £120 professional pay and a £24 Disco Shift fee, or £144 total before any applicable VAT.

When is the final Disco Shift fee calculated?

After the shift, the business records actual hours and any tip. The professional confirms or requests a correction, then the business pays the professional directly. Disco Shift invoices 20% of confirmed pay, excluding tips.

What if a business cancels at short notice?

If a business cancels less than 24 hours before a shift after a professional has been accepted, the professional is owed 20% of scheduled pay and Disco Shift charges its 20% cancellation fee on the accepted professional’s scheduled pay. The business pays the professional directly; Disco Shift invoices its cancellation fee separately. Read the full terms.
